After a year of meticulous planning, your wedding day is rapidly approaching. You’ve got everything planned (all the way down to the groom’s socks), yet you can’t decide how to style your hair for the big day.

If the thought of walking down the aisle with a lackluster hairstyle is keeping you up at night, fear not. We’ve rounded up seven easy wedding hairstyle tutorials that are bound to take your groom’s breath away.

Side Swept Fishtail Braid

If you’re looking for a wedding hairstyle with a boho feel, look no further than this side swept fishtail braid. Gather all of your hair on the left or right side of your head and secure it in a loose ponytail. Next, divide the ponytail into two equal sections. To create the fishtail effect, take a section of hair from the outside of left ponytail and cross it over to the right ponytail. Repeat the process on the opposite side, taking a section from the outside of the right ponytail over to the left.

Continue crossing the opposite sections of the hair until you reach the end of the braid, then secure it with an elastic. Once the braid is secure, remove the elastic from the nape of the neck to give the braid a seamless look. Pancake the braid for a voluminous effect. For a bridal touch, place small flowers throughout your braid.

Once you see the final figures for your flower bill, you’ll wonder if your centerpieces will end up looking more glamorous than you do. Avoid being upstaged by your decor and save a few of your favorite wedding flowers for a breathtaking updo. To create this look, all you’ll need is an elastic headband, a few bobby pins, and a flower crown.

To begin, place your headband on top of your hair. Then, take the section of hair in front of your right ear, pull it back, and tuck it into your headband. Continue tucking the hair into your headband until the band is completely covered and your hair feels secure.

Then, take your flower crown and place it on top of your head, fastening the flower crown with several bobby pins. You’re ready to walk down the aisle.

Loop Chignon

If you want your wedding dress to be the center of attention, opt for a simple hairstyle that will beautifully complement your face without commanding too much attention. Start by applying a medium hold styling pomade to your edges. Then, part your hair to side or brush it straight back. Gather your hair at the nape of your neck and begin securing a ponytail. When you’re pulling your strands through the hair elastic for the last time, stop half way through to create a loop with a hanging tail.

Slide your fingers through the loop and bring the half-bun up to meet the back of your head. Pin the loop to the back of your head with several bobby pins. To complete the look, pull the hanging tail of hair through the loop and secure it with several bobby pins.

Glamour Waves

If you’re looking for a elegant style that pairs well with a veil, glamour waves are for you. Give yourself a deep part, then start at the back of your head working with 2-inch sections of clean, dry hair. Spray each one with heat protectant before wrapping it around a 1-inch curling iron barrel.

Continue curling until you’ve completed your entire head, then brush out your curls until you achieve your desired S-curl. Finish your look with a spritz of shine spray. If you’re only wearing your veil for the ceremony, you may want a quick and easy way to add some sparkle to your look for the reception. Clip a jeweled hair piece near your temple.

Your wedding is one of the few occasions it’s totally acceptable to wear a tiara—so you should absolutely wear the tiara!

Gather your hair at your crown and secure it with an elastic. Place a foam or fabric hair donut and the base of your ponytail and begin to wrap your hair around the donut, making sure the donut isn’t visible through your hair. Once all of your hair is tucked, use a few bobby pins to hold the bun in place. Fasten your tiara with a few bobby pins before heading down the aisle.

Textured Ponytail

If you can’t imagine parting with your go-to ponytail on your big day, consider glamming it up with a little volume and texture. Apply a medium hold styling pomade to the edges of your hair and brush through until all of your edges lie completely flat. Gather all of your hair on the top of your head and secure a ponytail with a hair elastic.

Working with 1-inch sections of hair, spray each one with a heat protectant before wrapping it around a curling wand. When every strand has been curled, gently backcomb the base of your ponytail for extra volume and rake your fingers through your hair to loosen up the curls. For a final touch, take a small section of hair from the base of your ponytail and wrap it around your elastic. Secure the strand with a bobby pin for an elegant finish.

Braided Updo

There’s no doubt you want to wear a gorgeous hairstyle on your wedding day, but you’ll also want a style that’s functional when you’re on the dance floor. Braid your locks up and away from your face with this stylish updo.

Part your hair down the middle vertically and horizontally to create four segments. Tie off the two sections in the back and leave the two front sections loose. Starting with the right segment, craft a French braid in each of the two front sections.

Once that’s done, craft two standard braids with the back sections. Wrap the two standard braids around each other to create a bun, securing it with several bobby pins. Pull the two French braids back, crisscrossing them over the braided bun. To complete the style, pin the loose ends of the French braids under the bun.
